RAW Takeaways (8/12/24)

Alright y’all another week of RAW has come and gone and here are my top takeaways from this week. I will say right now I feel that RAW is producing way better than Smackdown right now but I feel like that will all change once Roman is back on TV more consistently.

  1. The New Judgement Day: Okay let’s start here. I love this storyline. I think the work that all of the wrestlers involved in this storyline has done is fantastic. However, I do not like that The New Judgement Day is always running from the Terror Twins. I feel like before SummerSlam and at SummerSlam The New Judgement Day stood on business and was strong. Now all of a sudden they are running from everyone.. I know it’s probably long-term storytelling but I don’t love it. Another thing, I’m still not buying Rhea and Damian as faces. It just doesn’t feel right to me. I think they are natural heels.
  2. Randy deserves another Title Run: Listen, Randy Orton is one of the best and most respected wrestlers in the business. Honestly, anything he does is usually fantastic. I think he deserves some respect and deserves a true title reign again. I honestly would love to see him beat Gunther at the Bash but I don’t think that will happen. Either way put a title on that man!
  3. Xavier Woods is Turning: We have seen recently Karion Kross trying to recruit Xavier Woods away from Kofi and honestly I didn’t think it would go anywhere but after last night’s episode he is definitely turning. We saw that we seemed hesitant backstage and then during the promo Kofi kept cutting him off which I feel will not settle well. I’m not sure how I feel about this turn. I love the New Day but I do understand that they need more.
  4. Wyatt6 is definitely coming after Ivy Nile: Listen Ivy, after attacking Ms. Maxxine last night, you better watch your back! The Wyatt6 are definitely not done with American Made and after that heel turn from Ivy last night, she’s definitely the next victim. Little side note – I really hope Alexa Bliss comes back and joins the Wyatt6! We need it!
  5. Women’s Tag Titles: These need to change hands. I’m not shading Alba and Isla at all but there is not creative direction. I don’t feel a pop for them and I honestly think if we want to Women’s Tag Division stronger, we need stronger tag champions.
  6. Bron Breakker & Sami Zayn: Breakker is a star – no doubt! I’m excited to see his future feuds and matches. He definitely is good in the ring and on the mic and will only improve. I love Sami and I’m excited to see his next chapter. I’m hoping it will be tagging with Jey Uso or being a member of The Bloodline again since Roman is back.

Overall, last night’s RAW was another good episode. The crowd was great and added fuel to the storylines. The matches were pretty good and I think there are a lot of storylines going on that will continue to produce great shows!
